ABOUT
The Chere McNair Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Foundation, Inc. Scholarship Program was established in 2010 for students attending 2-yr and 4-yr colleges and universities. The program offers support for each student’s tuition, fees, and other educational expenses.
Our Scholarships include the Memorial Scholarship for students affected by Sickle Cell Disease and the Carbonado Scholarship for formerly incarcerated youth.
Those attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) will be given priority; and those attending a public university within the UNC System are also strongly encouraged to apply.
At the Chere McNair Sickle Cell and Thalassemia Foundation, Inc. we believe that education is the key to strengthening our community and hope these scholarships will help unlock brighter futures for deserving and committed students.

The Chere McNair Foundation, Inc. Committee is comprised of family, community, and professionals. They volunteer their time and are deeply committed to offering financial assistance to deserving students form underserved communities.
